Everything we teach, and the equipment we distribute, is based on sound scientific thought, as we understand it today, That said, everything we do is based solely on our own opinions, theories, and explorations.
While we have nothing but respect for the professional contributions of Dr. I.N. Toftness, we do not teach his technique, nor do we teach, or distribute, the Toftness Radiation Detector, Toftness Sensometer, Toftness Research Device, Toftness instrument, or any device that functions on a similar principle. We go to great lengths to share Dr. Toftness' principles, and contrast them with our own ideas and principles.
It is never to be used to diagnose nor treat a medical condition of any sort. It is not subject to scrutiny by any board or agency.
While we stand on the shoulders of Dr. I.N. Toftness, and understand his hypotheses, as communicated in his 1971 patent, we recognize and teach a completely different set of scientific principles, ideas, and theories. We go to great lengths to teach our students the fundamental differences between the Toftness Radiation Detector and the I.N.TERFACE™ simple skin conductance monitor. Our device does not measure, detect, focus, or amplify, microwave radiation emitted from the patient.
Our device does nothing, but serve as a convenient, tactile surface to monitor one's own subtle electrodermal activity, galvanic skin response, or skin conductance, a scientifically accepted, physiologic response, under the control of the autonomic nervous system. Our practitioners learn to use the device to increase their confidence, competence, and certainty, as related to their clinical judgement and decision making process.
